Modern classic dreamtime indie, real copies now actually available..
This one has been tough to track down for a while. Or maybe I was just too slow off the mark. Either way I’m super happy to have a physical copy of a record that has been a major favourite over the last little while. This is the kind of music that could have surfaced anytime in the last 35 years, maybe on Shimmy Disc, maybe on Slumberland or maybe on Happiest Place. For me it’s most redolent of that moment in the US in the mid-to-late 90s when bands like Rocketship, The Softies or The Aislers Set were producing almost too perfect, completely knowing versions of classic 80s indie. Soft, minimal, full of lapping delay and most importantly, great melodies, this record kind of has it all. More spooked autumnal gold just in time for halloween..
