Fresh drop from the local Levy Bakk Heia crew, calling on the services of their secret weapon Schuttle who responds with four typically tripp’d out, psilocybin-infused microhouse bouncers with tweak’d lysergic lashes and vast textural range steeped in the post-clubbing / after-hour morning light. Chugging out of the start gates, ‘Ritual Master’ pits slo-mo kinetics to clipped vocals and a subdued 303 squirm, whilst ‘Heretic’ ups it to a cool pill nibblin’ tempo with a 2-steppy / Phylps Trak II styled stab keeping it all in check. On the B-side yung Johnny flaunts his undeniable studio tekkers on ‘Ekk’, fuelled by the textual dexterity of Steevio and flooded by hugeee dub chord rushes for that all important serotonin release at the midpoint, whereas ‘Weaver’ rounds off with a deeper, after-hours mind-jam laced with panning electronic matter and dubb’d out after-trails. Struggling to see club music in it’s truest and most befitting context right now for obvious reasons but instant anthem alert here for D-Day on June 21st.. (mint / new)
