In the spiralling mass of life changing records on Eno’s Editions EG, I feel this one is often over looked, the delicate percussive rhythms, shimmering synth chords and woozy pitch-bending encourage a state of quiet hypnogogic contemplation. There’re nods to the East with buried tambura drones yet perfectly balanced with super sparse, minimal piano and string work ensures this one sounds as progressive and fresh now as it did in 1985.
