LA-born, Berlin-based artist and field-recordist Jake Muir lands back on Sferic, following his much-lauded surf-rock sample dismantlement on debut ‘Lady’s Mantle’ with an ode to the hypnogogic city nights – ‘The Hum Of Your Veiled Voice’. Echoing the 24hr sensory overload of endless nights in urban areas, Jake unspools a dense but intimate sound-field of swirling, heavily layered sonic textures, punctuated by omnipresent fragments of noise that appear and disappear back into the aether. Assembled through meticulous arrangement of sound particles, ‘The Hum Of Your’ finds an uncanny sense of inner-sanctuary and much needed detachment from the increasingly oppressive city lifestyles allowing you to weave your own escapist narrative through the spacious soundscapes within. A very natural release that feels very at home with the rest of the label’s family and now concrete aesthetic..(mint / new).
